① memo 20170629 ~ Splash ~ June 29 , 2017 , Antwerp , Belgium – Premiere today of this one minute film “Splash” in The One Minutes Series of July 2017 called “Enjoy your file, download your life” curated by Studio David Claerbout and hosted by both The One Minutes , De Imagerie , and Het Bos in Antwerp , Belgium
“Splash” was made August 1, 2016 and added that day to the archive of The One Minutes.
[ Note : another copy of this 1 minute with a different soundtrack , called “Crossing” , was archived that same day by The One Minutes ]
The footage was shot September 26 , 2015 in the Greek Aegean Sea in the aftermath of storms across the Mediterranean that brought apocalyptical flash floods and torrential rainfall in nearby places.

Art Museum of Nanjing University of the Arts (AMNUA)  in the exhibition ‘Ways of Seeing the Future – Creating, engaging and connecting – Celebrating 20 years of One Minutes’ from 26 October until 25 November 2018 .
“Splash” is selected for 8 hours of One Minute video art , by the Art Museum of Nanjing University of the Arts (AMNUA) presents in the exhibition ‘Ways of Seeing the Future – Creating, engaging and connecting – Celebrating 20 years of One Minutes’ from 26 October until 25 November 2018.  The exhibition takes place in AMNUA’s futuristic Hall03 of 1500 square meters on the top floor of the museum.
Ways of Seeing the Future consists of 20 series curated by, among others, Melanie Bonajo, David Claerbout and Cally Spooner, discussing the topics of today and our near future in video art. The show marks the start of the festivities celebrating The One Minutes’ 20th anniversary in 2019.

Since 1999, The One Minutes Foundation has produced and distributed one minute videos from an artistic point of view, offering an international stage for people to create, engage and connect. The One Minutes Collection consists of over 10,000 video works by artists from more than 120 countries.
The exhibition consist of 20 series , and Splash is part of the July 2017 serie ‘Enjoy your file, download your life’ , curated by Studio David Claerbout.

History One Minutes In Paradiso

November 28, 2010 (tonight 6 years ago) the Dutch Museum of National History and The One Minutes presented a selection of videos about Dutch History (and personal history of dutch) at the festival “Waar Geschiedenis Begint” (Where history starts) in Paradiso, Amsterdam.

Artists and art students were asked to make a one minute video about where history starts. Special host is artist and theater director Steven de Jong.

This short doc shows the premiere of the 1 minute film “Transport XX – face to face” ( full details here at michelvanderburg.com ) and screening (full or partially) of some others including “Aap Noot Mies” ( by Barry van der Rijt – barryvanderrijt.com – here at The One Minutes Vimeo  )

International School for Holocaust Studies acquired films

The media collection of Yad Vashem’s International School for Holocaust Studies acquired this month – July 2016 – the DVDs of two of our documentary films :

1) The 2016 film of the premiere play “Celui Qui M’A Rendu Mon Âme” – the French-spoken adaptation of the play “Who returned my soul… “ originally by Kelly D. Brock – that retells the stories of 10 holocaust survivors – now by students of the Saint-Sépulcre school in Liege , Belgium (Philippe Renette – Centre Scolaire S2J.eu / Michel van der Burg – michelvanderburg.com). Online available and documented via this post CELUI QUI M’A RENDU MON ÂME.

2) The 2012 documentary “Transport XX to Auschwitz” – a film by Karen Lynne & Richard Bloom and Michel van der Burg. The attack on this 20th deportation train in Belgium – by three young men – the rescue, and the many escapes and escape attemps are documented in this film by the first-hand accounts of one of the attackers, people that jumped from the train and survivors who returned from Auschwitz. The film is online available and fully documented via this post Documentary film “Transport XX to Auschwitz”.

“Hava Nagila” played May 26th, 2012 by the klezmer music band “INEJNEM” – inejnem.pl – in front of Restaurant Ester on Szeroka street in the heart of Kazimierz – the old Jewish district of Kraków , Poland.
Iryna Stefaniuk is singing, with Myroslav Bandrivskyy playing the clarinet, Jurij Bejchuk on guitar, and Jarosław „Filip” Filipiak on contrabass.
