Kaarsjesavond Candle Night Gouda


The people of Gouda in Holland burn candles at the traditional december candle night ‘Kaarsjesavond’ all over the historic town center, where Adrie Vergeer’s Gouda street organs ‘Pansfluiter’ (Pan whistler) and ‘Het Zonnetje’ (Little Sun) play, and the kids of Music school Gouda. When the candles in the giant tree on the central market square are lit, the Carillon is played by Boudewijn Zwart, and Gouda songs (Als de kaarsjes branden… Gouda stad van …) by Desiree Coumans with John de Heij (guitar) and Nils Davidse (piano) – sound on that freezing cold (-7°C / 19°F) Friday night December 16, 2008 in front of a massive crowd at the town hall in the city center of Gouda , Holland. Sea Sparkle


Sea Sparkle ~ Sébastiaan Stevens plays his handpan drum on deck of the clipper Wilhelmina summer 2018 in the port of the dutch Wadden Sea island Vlieland. Sea Sparkle showed up in front of us – a tip from shipper Harriët.

A first edition of this film was published 20180725 with the title : Sébastiaan’s Sea Sparkle .
This new edition of the film (20200814) now has improved color/light correction using noise reduction with Neat Video.

Watching the sails spinning outside the Red windmill window – sitting inside the Red hollow post mill – in Holland known as “Rooie Wip” wipmolen , build 1639 for draining the polder water into the nearby Old Rhine river in Hazerswoude , Alphen , Holland.
Filmed summer 2013 with a pinhole camera : SLR Magic ‘Toy’ Pin Hole cap – f/128 aperture, 12mm focal length (24mm-equivalent), 84° angle view – mounted on a Olympus Micro Four Third camera (E-PM1). Synchronized sound from Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM Recorder.
