When the candles in the giant tree on the central market square are lit, the Carillon is played by Boudewijn Zwart, and Gouda songs (Als de kaarsjes branden… Gouda stad van …) by Desiree Coumans with John de Heij (guitar) and Nils Davidse (piano) – sound on that freezing cold (-7°C / 19°F) Friday night December 16, 2008 in front of a massive crowd at the town hall in the city center of Gouda , Holland. EN – This music video Libérés features the final pre-release of the beautiful french song Libérés (‘Released’) by Didier Jans, on the true story of reconciliation and close friendship between Simon Gronowski and Koenraad Tinel – both war children. One, a former deportee, grew up in a Jewish family ; the other, son of a fervent flamingant, a Flemish nationalist father, who idolized Hitler.

Lui sauta du vingtième convoi

Papirosn – a yiddish song – played May 26th, 2012 by the klezmer music band “INEJNEM” (in English “Together”) in front of Restaurant Ester on Szeroka street in the heart of Kazimierz – the old Jewish district of Kraków (Poland).
Iryna Stefanyuk is singing – the first part in Yiddish and the second part in Russian – with Myroslav Bandrivskyy playing the clarinet, Jurij Bejchuk on guitar, and Jarosław Filipiak on contrabass. The song is also well-known as “Papirosen”. See Inejnem’s facebook for other concert info.
Story – The song “Papirosn” (in English “Cigarettes”) is about a little boy all alone trying to survive: Wet, hungry, standing in the rain on a cold, foggy, night, a little boy is standing on the corner of a street begging: Please, buy my cigarettes, buy my matches!
